Introducing Retrospection, the brand new EP by contemporary classical composer David Farnon.
David has released multiple pieces with Chromium over the last few years, from his piano suite "The Dancing Garden" to his orchestral work "On the Journey of A Soul". David has also released choral works such as the a capella piece "Le Flaneur" and the lullaby "Wiegenlied", and has contributed to our Chromium x Classics series, bringing fresh takes on old classics such as Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata and Handel's Zadok the Priest.
David's new EP is titled "Retrospection" in which he looks back on two works from much earlier in his career. 'Pastourelle', for Violin and Chamber Orchestra, was written in 1991 and was inspired by the island of Guernsey, in particular its beautiful South coast. 'One Day in London Town' for full orchestra was written in a small bedsit in Harrow Weald during February 1981 and depicts the wonder and excitement of a recent arrival living in the metropolis. You can read more about the pieces here.
The album was recorded in Prague and mixed and mastered in London this year and was publicly released on 4th October 2024.
