We’re excited to release the original television soundtrack album for the BBC Studios Natural History Unit’s latest six-part nature series "Mammals”, narrated by Sir David Attenborough.

Chromium composer Thomas Farnon (Our Planet II, Super Eagles '96, Fight the Power) wrote the score to the series that premiered on 31st March 2024 on BBC One and aired its last episode on the 5th May. The soundtrack album features selections of the show’s original music from sequences including the star-nosed mole from Water, the Austin bats from Dark and the Siberian flying squirrel from Forest. It also includes the main theme and is now available to stream and download on all major digital music services.

The series offers fascinating insights into the most successful animal group in the world and reveals the secrets of their success, and how their winning design, incredible adaptability, unrivalled intelligence and unique sociability have all contributed to their remarkable rise.

The series was made by the BBC Studios Natural History Unit and co-produced by BBC America, ZDF, Youku and France Télévisions. It was commissioned by Jack Bootle, Head of Commissioning, Specialist Factual and Sreya Biswas, Head of Natural History, BBC Commissioning.
